Little Gransden
Another grass strip, this one
is situated about 20 west of Cambridge, run by Mark Jeffries of aerobatics
and Yak fame! Little Gransden has two grass runways, one east/west and
the other north/south, the later being a bit short and with obstructions
on the approach so is less commonly used. This airfield is home to some
very interesting aircraft, not least the assorted Yaks that are imported
to here. The hangars are also stuffed with some lovely examples too. Last
time I visited I saw a Beech Staggerwing, a Stampe, Pitts Special, Mark's
Laser, an Auster and various others. When arriving be very careful to avoid
the villages and the large house off the NE of the field. Also be careful
of the glider site of Great Gransden nearby.
Fuel: 100LL is normally available.
There is an annual air and
vehicle show and fun day in aid of charity. Click
